Vicki Lawrence brings star power to Power of the Purse by Christina Killion Valdez

Vicki Lawrence is not a natural redhead. So she was surprised when her gynecologist made a comment about her hair color, she joked Tuesday during the Power of the Purse luncheon in Rochester.

But not as surprised as one of the few men in the audience was when the famous comedienne singled him out during her humorous, women-centric keynote speech.

"Is he OK?" she asked as the man turned shades of red and the audience roared with laughter.

The moment and the event illustrated the bond women share and the power they hold when they come together to support a cause.
